This is the replacement 60 Mesh (0.25mm) Fine Exit Drop-In Gate. It is fully interchangeable with the standard exit grates included in the BST3D Breeder Box Upgrade Kit (designed to fit the Fluval Large and Medium breeder boxes).

This specialized grate was engineered to keep super-tiny fish fry safely inside the breeder box while increasing total surface area to maximize water flow and prevent overflow clogs.

Please do your research on the SIZE of the fry species you plan to use this with.

Maintenance & Best Practices

⚠️ Please Note: Because these holes are roughly half the size of the standard 60mesh BST3D exit grate, they require more frequent cleaning.

• Cleaning Interval: We recommend cleaning the mesh every 3 to 5 days, depending on the type and frequency of food you are feeding your fry.

• Pro-Tip: Once your tiny fry grow a bit larger, we highly recommend switching back to our standard BST3D 30-Mesh (0.6mm) Grate. The 30-mesh grate allows for higher water flow and stays clean significantly longer. A spare toothbrush cleans these BST3D grates very effectively and quickly, whether they are inside or outside of the BST3D upgrade kit/Breeder Box.

Care Instructions for 3D‑Printed Parts

Rinse your parts with room‑temperature tap water, then air‑dry or gently towel‑dry. To keep them in top condition, avoid dishwashers, high heat, or prolonged direct sunlight. (especially temperatures above 110°F)
